Steve Brooks is an award-winning journalist with bylines in TIME, Prism, Bay City News Foundation’s Local News Matters, Sports Illustrated, and more. He is the former editor-in-chief of San Quentin News, a fellow with California Local News Fellowship, and a co-founder of The People in Blue, a group of incarcerated people who helped create Governor Newsom’s Reimagine San Quentin report.
