Dimitris Liveris is a second-year student at the University of Florida majoring in Sociology with minors in Statistics and Geography. Dimitris is interested in researching expanding surveillance and social control, such as electronic monitoring of prisoners through JPay communications and discriminatory implementation of ShotSpotter surveillance infrastructure. Working with prison organizing and political prisoner support groups in Florida has shaped his interest in working with the Movements Lab to document the voices that spearheaded resistance to mass incarceration.
