Ariel Gilbert is a current senior at Columbia University majoring in African American and African Diaspora Studies. Guided by her experience in the foster care system and her parents’ incarceration, she looks forward to attending law school this upcoming fall. Outside of her work at Incite, she has experience with other advocacy and social justice organizations, including the Center for Justice and the Justice-in-Education Initiative at Columbia. Ariel feels most at home when paving the way for other first-generation, low-income women of color to not just have a spot at the table, but also a voice in the legal world.
