Jess Robinson
JD-PhD student in sociology and Paul F. Lazarsfeld Fellow at Columbia University.

Her research interests include punishment and social control, governance, surveillance and technology, and professionalization and expertise, with a primary focus on the criminal legal system. Methodologically, she pursues mixed-methods research, with a focus on social networks and a commitment to participatory and engaged approaches. Before joining Columbia University, she worked as a Senior Data Analyst at CORNERS, the Center for Neighborhood Engaged Research and Science.

Her research interests include the political economy of incarcerated labor, movement and organizing networks, and global and transnational perspectives.
